The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) is urging Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration, expressing optimism that the current economic challenges will soon be overcome.
Highlighting the need for political reform, the MMWG advocated for a transition from the Presidential system of democracy to a Parliamentary one, citing the current system’s favoritism towards political officeholders over the masses.
According to the group’s National Coordinator, Abdullahi Ibrahim, the economic hardships exacerbated by the withdrawal of petrol subsidies stem from past bad leadership, insincerity, and corruption.
In a statement marking the end of Ramadan, the MMWG emphasized the importance of government measures to stabilize fuel prices and improve the economy, urging unity and support from all citizens.
Recognizing electricity as crucial for economic development, the group called on both federal and state governments to take swift action to ensure stable power supply for socio-economic progress.
