The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned former Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, along with four others, over alleged misappropriation of ₦47 billion.
The defendants, including Orji’s son, Chinedum Orji, and three former government officials, appeared before the Abia State High Court on Friday. They face a 16-count charge, including conspiracy to steal and divert public funds.
All pleaded not guilty, and their lawyers filed bail applications, which were granted by Justice Lilian Abai. The trial is set for June 18 and 19, 2025.
The EFCC continues its crackdown on corruption as Nigerians watch closely for justice.
