Operatives of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps have apprehended a suspected traditional healer along with a recently deceased body.
The self-identified traditional healer Babatunde Kolawole, was taken into custody within the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Omolola Odutola, the police spokesperson in Ogun, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday. She explained that the man, who had been apprehended by Amotekun Corps personnel while in possession of the male corpse, claimed he was endeavoring to revive the deceased.
Despite acknowledging the occurrence, the suspect maintained his role as a native doctor attempting to resuscitate the individual.
Odutola mentioned that the circumstances surrounding how Kolawole acquired the recently deceased body during late hours of the night remain unclear. He said that no one has stepped forward to claim the body, and the suspect has refrained from disclosing additional details regarding the origin of the deceased body.
The corpse was transported to Ifo General Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which will help them extract more information and resolve the case.
