The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the Permits for Non-Commercial Flights (PNCF) licenses of three private jets for conducting commercial operations.
Captain Chris Najomo, Acting Director-General of the NCAA, made the announcement via a video press release posted on the official NCAA X account. The suspension follows violations of PNCF licenses and aviation regulations.
In November 2023, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, ordered the cessation of private jets’ commercial use. In March 2024, the NCAA warned PNCF holders against carrying passengers, cargo, or mail for hire.
After heightened surveillance, three operators were found in violation, leading to the suspension of their PNCF licenses. The NCAA has directed reevaluation of all PNCF license holders by April 19, 2024, to ensure compliance.
Minister Festus Keyamo reiterated his commitment to taking firm action against illegal commercial use of private jets, including grounding and revoking licenses.
