The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has disbursed N10 billion to the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines, and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) to kick-start an entrepreneur development program aimed at supporting businesses across the region.
NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, made the announcement during the inauguration of the NDCCITMA board in Port Harcourt on Friday. He said the fund is the first tranche of a N30 billion commitment by the Commission to empower nano, micro, and small-scale enterprises across the Niger Delta.
Dr. Ogbuku stated that 5,000 businesses have already been approved to benefit from the initiative and reaffirmed NDDC’s partnership with the Chamber to ensure the scheme’s success.
He also directed all NDDC contractors and vendors to register with NDCCITMA before July 31, 2025, noting that registration would enhance their chances of continued engagement with the Commission.
