Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested 41-year-old Canadian Adrienne Munju at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos for drug trafficking. She was apprehended on October 3 while arriving on a KLM flight from Canada, carrying 35.20 kilograms of ‘Canadian Loud,’ a potent strain of synthetic cannabis.

During a search of her luggage, officials discovered 74 parcels of the illicit substance. Munju claimed she was recruited online to transport the drugs for 10,000 Canadian dollars to fund her master’s degree.

In a separate operation, NDLEA agents intercepted over 13 million opioid pills and 338,000 bottles of codeine-based syrup at Port Harcourt Ports, valued at over ₦9 billion. These seizures highlight ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.
