The traditional ruler of Nibo in Awka South Council Area, HRM Eze Ugonwanne Dr. Sir M.C Ngene. (Ezeike 4 of Nibo), has appreciated God in a special way as he celebrated the new yam festival in his palace.
It is on record that every last Saturday of August every year is a unique and special day set apart for Nibo new yam festival.
The ceremony took place on Saturday, 28th August, 2021 at Ezeike Nibo’s palace (Obu Ezeike Nibo) with an opening prayer, hymns and praises by Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Sunday Ajakor of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Nibo and other priests who prayed and thanked God for the bountiful harvests, His provisions and mercies upon the life of HRM Ezeugonwanne Dr. Sir M.C Ngene, his family and the entire Nibo community.
Ezeike (iv) of Nibo, who danced and appreciated God for His Grace upon his life as the traditional ruler of Nibo; also thanked his cabinet members, Ndi nze na òzò, Umuezeike Nibo, traditional rulers, friends and well wishers who came to celebrate with him in his palace.
In their congratulatory messages, Ichie Kodilichukwu Enemuo (Omeili na Nibo) and Nnia Innocent Enemuo (Uduezue) showed gratitude to God for being alive to witness this year’s new yam festival. They also prayed for God to strengthen Ezeike Nibo and umuezeike in order to witness more bountiful harvests next year.
Speaking to Kpakpando correspondent, Architect Izuu Ebenebe (Ichie òzò Nnekwu ogalanya Nibo), one of Ezeike’s cabinet members, showed gratitude to God for His preservation. He prayed God to bless all the people that graced the occasion.
The ceremony was graced by many traditional rulers; among was the traditional ruler of Òkpuno; HRM Igwe Engr. S.L Okafor ( Ogene Òkpùnò), Traditional ruler of Ezinato; HRM igwe Timothy Nwaka, Traditional ruler of Nise, HRM igwe R.N Iloh (Ise n’ise) among others.
The ceremony also had in attendance, Ichie George Nwaolisa, The Chief Press Secretary, Ezeike Nibo, Nibo union executives led by the president general; Chief Engr. Dr. Innocent Akuvuo (Ochudo Nibo),members of Ezeike in council led by ichie òzò Ezeani Robins( Ikenga Nibo), Hon. Chief Sir ichie Chukwuemeka Pat Orjiakor (Onwa Nibo Chukwugozili), among others.
