Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, has given reasons for the country’s participation in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, which kicked off yesterday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The summit aims to address the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict, with President Tinubu expected to advocate for an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution. Idris emphasized that Nigeria seeks a diplomatic solution, arguing that the conflict cannot be resolved through military means.
He reiterated Nigeria’s support for a two-state solution, allowing Israel and Palestine to coexist peacefully. The minister warned that failure to achieve peace could escalate tensions throughout the region and beyond.
