On August 6, 2024, Nigerian athletes Ese Brume, Ruth Usoro, and Prestina Ochonogor made history by reaching the women’s long jump final at the Paris Olympics.
This marks the first time three Nigerian women have advanced to the event’s final at the Olympics.
Brume secured her spot with a leap of 6.7m, while Usoro and Ochonogor jumped 6.76m and 6.65m, respectively. They will compete with 12 other finalists for podium finishes on Thursday.
