Nigeria’s power generation has hit a new peak of 5,713.60 megawatts, the highest in four years.
According to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the record was achieved on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 9:30 PM, surpassing the previous peak of 5,543.20 megawatts recorded on February 14 by 170.40MW. TCN confirmed that the entire power generated was successfully transmitted.
Additionally, the country set a new record for maximum daily energy supply, reaching 125,542.06 megawatt-hours, breaking last month’s record.
Though the latest peak falls 88MW short of the all-time high recorded in 2021, TCN describes it as a significant achievement for Nigeria’s power sector.
