The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMET, has predicted high-intensity rainfall between May and June, raising concerns over possible flash floods in coastal cities.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this while presenting the 2025 climate prediction in Abuja. He noted that the onset of rain will be delayed in northern and central states, including Plateau, Kaduna, and Niger, while early rains are expected in Delta, Rivers, and Lagos.
Temperatures are also projected to be higher than normal across the country. Keyamo urged farmers and others dependent on rainfall to consult NiMET for detailed guidance.
