The National Judicial Council has set up a probe panel to investigate three High Court Judges who issued conflicting ex-parte orders on the same subject matter.
This was made known by the Director of Information of the Supreme Court, Mr Soji Oye, in a statement on Friday.
NJC directed the three judges to appear before the special investigation panel to show cause, why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.
According to Oye, the panel was constituted by the council at its 95th meeting held on September 15 and 16 in line with the principles of fair hearing and presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad.
The names of the three Judges and areas of jurisdiction were however not disclosed in the statement.
Recall that Last week, Justice Muhammed held a meeting with the six chief judges in the affected jurisdictions of Rivers, Kebbi, Cross River, Jigawa, Anambra, and Imo over the conflicting ex parte orders.
He warned that the judiciary would no longer condone indiscipline or allow any judge to tarnish the image of the judiciary.
