In a significant development on Tuesday , the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended their strike for five days.
This decision comes as the unions prepare to enter negotiations with the Federal Government over the minimum wage and electricity tariff issues.
The strike, which began on Monday, aimed to push the government to approve a new minimum wage and reverse the recent hike in electricity tariffs.
Following a six-hour meeting, the government committed to raising the minimum wage to above N60,000, with daily meetings set to finalize the amount.
Both parties have agreed to these terms and have assured that no worker will face repercussions for participating in the strike.
