NMA Inaugurates Awka Zonal EXCO

The Nigerian Medical Association, Awka Zone, has elected seven-man executive to run its affairs for two years.
The members include Dr. Emmanuel Umenweke – Chairman, Dr. Basil Dim – Vice Chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuka – Secretary and Dr. Basil Ezennaka – Assistant Secretary.
Others include Dr. Ikechukwu Obiudu – Financial Secretary, Dr. Chinedu Anyanwu – Treasurer, and Dr. Austin Anugo – Public Relations Officer.
In a post inaugural speech, Dr. Umenweke promised that the association would partner state government and other sister health practitioners to drive the health care delivery scheme.
According to the chairman, the current executive would prioritize the welfare of doctors to ensure maximum efficiency in health care delivery.
Dr. Umenweke further spoke on partnering the Ministry of Health to consolidate existing cordial relationship with government.
He noted that the association will utilize its physician’s week which traditionally comes up every last week in October to embark on socio/medical activities that keep it moving.
The chairman commended Chukwuma Soludo for his bold intervention in ameliorating the security threats in the State, and further felicitated with his colleague and state Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
