In view of the forthcoming Easter celebration on Sunday 4th April, 2021, the State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State Command , Comdt. David Bille has assured the good people of Anambra State of the Command’s readiness to perform its statutory responsibility of protection of lives and properties of innocent citizens in the State during the Easter celebration.
To this effect, the State Commandant has ordered the deployment of One Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty Six Officers and Men drawn from Counter Terrorism unit (CTU), Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear and Energy unit (CBRNE), Disaster response Unit, Medical, Crisis Management Unit, Special Force, Anti-Vandalism Unit and Critical Protection Unit (CIPU) to ensure adequate protection during and after the Easter Celebration.
In a statement made available to newsmen by ASC 1 Okadigbo Edwin,
Public Relations Officer Anambra State Command, the Command will also collaborate with other Sister Security Agencies in Joint Task Force (JTF) robust Patrol to ensure peaceful and hitch-free Celebration.
Personnel deployed for this critical assignment are under strict instruction of the Commandant of Corps to be civil , act within the ambit of the extant laws; to be firm and display high level of professionalism in dealing with the members of the Public in the discharge of their duties.
Furthermore, the Command said it is is prepared to deal with hoodlums, Miscreants and other disgruntled elements that may attempt to cause break down of law and order before during and after the festive period.
Parents and Guardians are also advised to be Security conscious,and caution their wards to be law abiding.
The state Commandant, Comdt.Bille, , extended his warm greetings to all Christian faithful and other residents in the state as they celebrate this year’s Easter Celebration while urging them to cooperate with NSCDC and other Sister Security Agencies in their efforts towards ensuring peaceful celebration and equally report any suspicious action /movement to the nearest NSCDC Formation for necessary action.
