Obasanjo highlights China’s role as key economic partner for Africa

Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has emphasized China’s role as a key economic partner for Africa.

Speaking on behalf of the InterAction Council during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, Obasanjo highlighted China’s contributions to Africa’s infrastructure, technology transfer, and personnel exchange.

The meeting, which marked the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, focused on strengthening Sino-African cooperation.

Obasanjo praised China’s achievements, including lifting 800 million people out of poverty, and noted that Africa looks to China as a partner in its development.

He reiterated the InterAction Council’s commitment to global peace and cooperation, working alongside China for deeper international relations.
