Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has urged the people of Ihiala local government area to come out and vote in the supplementary election scheduled to hold in the area today, Tuesday 9th November 2021.
Governor Obiano’s position was contained in the public service announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu and made available to newsmen on Monday in Awka.
Informing the public, particularly residents and voters in Ihiala local government area of the state that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Tuesday as the date for the 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial supplementary election for Ihiala local government area only, the statement pointed out that
Anambra state government is working with relevant security agencies to ensure adequate security arrangements are made to protect life and property during the election.
The State Government further encouraged Ndi Ihiala to come out and vote for the candidate of their choice as they may have observed elections were successfully and peacefully held in other 20 local government areas of the state and INEC has duly announced the results without that of Ihiala which failed to hold due to Insecurity scare.
Gov. Willie Obiano further stated that no incidence of violence or voter molestation was recorded in the Anambra gubernatorial election which was held on Saturday, 6th November 2021.
