The Igbo Socio -Cultural Organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo Anambra State Chapter, has commended the state governor for his magnanmity over the payment of compensation of two hundred million naira to victims of EndSARS protest in the state.
The Anambra State Chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene made this known to Newsmen in Awka. He urged youths to resist the attempt of becoming part of violence that would mar their future.
He also applauded the governor for his proactive measures in handling the peaceful protest by youths and continued efforts to halt the activities of hoodlums who hijacked the protests.
It will recalled that governor Obiano announced on Tuesday, while presenting the budget to the State House of Assembly, that the state government has set aside a sum of 200 million for payment of compensation to victims who have proven cases of gross human rights violations, torture and deaths from the activities of the defunct SARS in Anambra state.
