Oil Marketers Await Modalities For Dangote’s Refinery Petroleum Products Distribution

The management of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has initiated the registration of distributors for the lifting and distribution of its refined petroleum products. This move aims to engage members of prominent associations such as DAPPMAN, IPMAN, and MOMAN in the distribution process.

In an interview with newsmen, Mr. Tunji Oyebanji, the former Chairman of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria expressed optimism about the refinery’s potential impact but raised concerns about the delay in releasing the modalities for product distribution.

He emphasized the need for clarity on commercial terms, including payment methods, underscoring the importance of transparency and openness in the business transaction.

On the other hand, the Executive Secretary of DAPPMAN, Olufemi Adewole, highlighted ongoing discussions with Dangote Petroleum Refinery, aiming to establish a collaboration that would facilitate the seamless distribution of refined petroleum products nationwide.

Additionally, the National Vice President of IPMAN, Alhaji Hammed Fasola, affirmed the association’s intention to lift and distribute petroleum products from the refinery, foreseeing a mutually beneficial relationship.

The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of MOMAN, Clement Isong, confirmed the registration of MOMAN members with Dangote Petroleum Refinery, emphasizing the impending discussions on commercial terms and the various methods of product procurement.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery, designed for 100% Nigerian Crude with the capability to process other crudes, is poised to significantly impact Nigeria’s economic development and meet the nation’s refined product requirements, with surplus for export.
