Arenowned philanthropist from Mbaukwu in Awka South Council Area of Anambra State, Chief Antony Okafor is popularly known as Oji Uno Eme Ogo has said that the future belongs to young people with sound education and imagination to create in their mindsets.
Chief Anthony made this statement on Wednesday 13th July 2022 while handing over a Zenith Bank check of Three Hundred and Twenty Three thousand Naira (N323,000) to the principal, Community Secondary School Mbaukwu.
The money he explained, was for the school fees of 46 junior students and 24 senior students of the college totaling seventy students, who were not able to pay their college tuition for third term.
Speaking to the students, Chief Anthony represented by the Mother Mrs. Chinwe okafor, explained that the gesture was aimed at rekindling hopes in the mindsets of the students particularly those of the struggling families and returning them to the classroom before their term examination starts later in the week.
He appealed to them to study their books so as to enable explaining that that is only way he would be encouraged to do more and at the same time , make their respective parents proud.
He explained that he was aware that many families, as a result of the current economic downturn in the country, are struggling to afford daily meals, not to talk of paying college fees for their children and that was why he has been intervening in a moment like this.
According to Oji Uno eme ogo, Education should not be a luxury reserved just for the privileged few in society but an economic necessity for every family, and appealing to governments accross board to do all it can so that every family irrespective of status , to be able to afford it.
He however urged parents to work hard to live up to expectations and not to depend on the mercy of others to train their children in Schools, maintaining that quality education is an undeniable right of every child, further stressing that the best anti-poverty programs tested and verified world-over has always been a world-class education program for the children.
By this , no students should be prevented from taking his or her exams as Chief Anthony okafor has paid all those who were unable to pay their college tuition for the third term 2021/2022 Academic session at community secondary School Mbaukwu.
