Omoba Tshola Emiko crowned as Ogiame Atuwase the third, making him the 21st Olu of Warri Kingdom.

The coronation followed a series of activities that were in line with tradition and performed before the ascension of the throne which took place on Saturday.

He performed three symbolic chores for the last time, which included fetching water in a clay pot, splitting wood with an ax, and paddling a canoe before he was crowned the Ogiame Atuwase the 3rd by the Uwangue of Warri, Chief Gabriel Awala.

In an electrifying speech after the coronation, the Ogiame Atuwase the 3rd said that it was not a coincidence that he was crowned the 21st Olu of Warri on the 21st day of August. He called it an act of God. He also thanked everyone that worked towards his coronation despite obstacles that had stood in the way. He also lifted the curse that was placed on the Federal Government of Nigeria by his grandfather and said the land of Warri will enjoy the peace and prosperity of God as he dedicates it to God.

Ogiame Atuwase 3 was born on April 2, 1984, in Warri to the 20th Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwase the 2nd. Aside from having worked at Shell Nigeria upon his return from the United States, he is an entrepreneur. He founded Noble Nigeria Limited and Coral Curator limited. He Is also the Chairman of Ocean Marine Security Limited as well as a director in the Gulf of Guinea limited, Vessel Link Big Limited, among others. He is married to Ivie Uhunoma Emiko and the union is blessed with three children.

Highlights of the event were dance performances by various cultural troupes
and musical renditions from the Warri Royal Choir and Laz Ekwueme Orchestral, among others.

Among notable dignitaries present were President Muhammadu Buhari ably represented by the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy governor of Edo state, Phillip Shuaibu, former governor of Delta State, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, amongst others.

Traditional rulers present were Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Obi of Onitsha, Alfred Achebe, among others.
