On Foreign News,

Donald Trump said he trusts Vladimir Putin to honor a Ukraine ceasefire, contradicting UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s warning that a deal without US security guarantees could allow Russia to invade again.

Meeting in Washington, Starmer presented Trump with a letter from King Charles III inviting him for a second UK state visit. Meanwhile, Trump is set to sign a deal granting the US access to Ukraine’s rare minerals but without security assurances for Kyiv.

Amid European concerns over Trump’s stance, the UK pledged to raise defense spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027. Starmer is attempting to bridge the gap between Trump and European allies on Ukraine’s future.
