Over 10,000 Persons Benefit From Free Medical Outreach In Anambra Courtesy ASA World

Over 10,000 persons benefited from the free medical outreach organized by the Anambra State Association, ASA Worldwide.

The free medical outreach offered free medical services in Four towns in Anambra State namely, Igboukwu, Abatete, Okija and Abagana.

The Medical Mission organized annually to treat medical conditions and diagnosis such as Arthritis, High blood pressure, diabetes, eye defects, malaria, typhoid fever among others health challenges.

Speaking with journalists in Abagana, Njikoka Council Area, the President, ASA World, and Leader of the Medical Mission, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze, said they considered it worthy to touch lives of people

Dr Anakwenze informed that the program is aimed at taking care of the health needs of Ndi Anambra, especially the less privileged this festive season.

He further affirmed that it is an annual exercise, and advised people to adopt healthy lifestyle, eat balanced diet, exercise and always go for routine medical check up.

The sponsor of this year’s medical outreach in Abagana, Chief Dr Napoleon Onyechi and wife, Iyom Azuka, also used the occasion to empower some widows and aged in the town, which they said, aimed at giving succour to the needy and putting smiles on their faces.

They explained that they decided to partner ASA Worldwide to give back to Society, and expressed their committed towards consolidating the health needs of the rural dwellers through the Medical Mission, Academics as well as Empowerment of Widows and the Aged among others.

In their separate remarks, the Vice Chairman, ASA World, Chief Tony Ikeotuonye, the Secretary-General , Honourable Chidi Asidianya, the Board Chairman, Chief Frank Anyaeche, and the Protocol Officer, Chief Odera Dike, hinted that ASA World is the Association of Ndi Anambra in the Diaspora, and was founded in 23rd December, 2009, to give back to society, the blessings given to them by God, adding that having realized the sufferings and the need of the people in the area of healthcare, they deemed it fit to give a helping hand.

They urged beneficiaries to always pray and intercede for them.

Some of the Doctors, Dr Angel Atuokwu,, the Head of the medical team from Nigeria, Dr Emeka Agbasi and Dr Emmanuel Ezejiegwu, Nurse Uju Ikechukwu and Nurse Ogochukwu Jideofor, Advised the Beneficiaries above 40 years to exercise minimum of 3 times a week, cut down their salt in take, check their medical indices such as blood Sugar, Blood pressure, cholesterol regularly, and as well, strive to be happy and guard against Anger and Bickering.

The YPP Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Dr Chinedu Umeadi, who hails from the town, also commended the efforts of the ASA World in providing free medical treatment for residents of the state and pledged to support the initiative to achieve set objectives

The President-General of Abagana Welfare Union, Engr Ben Okongwu, Chief Clems Ofoedu, Mrs Jane Udo, and a widow, Mrs Obi Ngozi – Christiana, appreciated the efforts of the organisers of the free medical treatment for bringing medicare to their door step, praying God to bless them abundantly and above all grant them long life and prosperity.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs Christiana Obi, and Mrs Jane Udo, praised the association for offering them free treatment and prayed God to bless them to sustain the exercise.

Highpoints of the even include offering medical services by the medical personnel and empowerment of widows and the aged by Dr and Iyom Onyechi.
