Valentine Ozigbo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) frontrunner in the November 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election, and immediate past President and CEO of Transcorp Nigeria PLC, on Wednesday, June 2nd 2021 met with state executives, ward chairmen and other statutory delegates of the People’s Democratic Party across Anambra state in a stakeholders meeting.
The meeting, well graced by party faithfuls, took place at EMMAUS HOUSE, Arthur Eze Avenue in Awka.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Ozigbo expressed appreciation for the support thus far, noting that participation the coming election was important to ensure a revamp of the system.
Lauding former governor, Peter Obi’s prudent use of state resources, he noted he was also coming with his unique style of management, which is key for development.
Mr Ozigbo also used the occasion to re-emphasize his 3-pronged governance approach of:
sectoral development, utilizing of unique economic advantages of zones, and community partnership.
Furthermore, While disassociating himself from ‘God fatherism’ – stating God was infact his father;
He dispelled speculations about his inexperience in politics by highlighting his achievements in business and leadership across various sectors across the world as the tangible ingredients in leadership.
While Speaking to Marvellous Ezenwa, Kpakpando FM’s correspondent at the event, Ozigbo emphasized the importance of choosing the right leaders with competence, integrity and compassion, noting that a new dawn was on the horizon and his “Anambra Chawapu” philosophy spelt good tidings in infrastructure, education, security, women and youths development.
He also expressed confidence in the Party structure noting that unity was the reason the party had more aspirants, and was more advanced in preparations for the election.
Also speaking to our correspondent, the state’s Secretary of the party, Barr John Akirika noted the party was undergoing genetic metamorphosis and getting things right, commending Ozigbo’s speech as issue based and urging others to borrow a leaf from the party.
Mr Valentine is also set to meet with ward Women Leaders, on Thursday and ward youth leaders on Friday
