Internal political squabbles are common in political parties in Nigeria.
Recently, it seems the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is embroiled in internal party issues.
It is no longer news that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State at the 60th birthday of former governor Liyel Imoke, had blamed the National Chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus for the troubles facing the party in some states of the federation , especially as it concerns the defection of some members to the ruling, APC party. He said that Secondus could not be trusted and accused him of doing the opposite of what he says.
In a reaction, Prince Secondus issued a statement through his media aide, Ike Abonyi , where he stated that he has been receiving calls and inquiries on the outburst of the Rivers State Governor against him.
Secondus, however, said that no matter the provocation,he will not join issues with any leader of the party nor talk down on any state government as doing that will be to remove the toga of the party.
He said that it is not out of place for leaders to be knocked about and in his case,it is unhidden that Secondus is not a liar.
