Police arrest driver as two Ondo students killed in crash

Two students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, in Ondo state, Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola, were confirmed dead on Thursday when they were crushed to death in an auto crash along Akure-Ondo highway, Ondo state.

It was gathered that the two students died when a Toyota car reportedly crushed them while travelling on a motorcycle along Olokuta area of Akure/ Ondo highway.

An eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent said the two victims gave up instantly the vehicle rammed into their motorcycle, and died before any help could reach them.

Responding to the incident, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Emergency Response, Prince Oriade Wellington Adebawo who commiserated with the families of the victims, condemned the reckless driving that led to the accident.

Adebawo warned drivers against overspeeding and emphasized the importance of exercising caution on the roads.

He stressed the need for drivers to be more vigilant and take necessary safety precautions to prevent such avoidable accidents.
