The Eagle-Net Special Squad during a routine stop and search duty has arrested a female passenger, Mrs. Victoria Itila, for allegedly transporting arms and ammunition to her destination.
She was àrrested along the Sapele-Benin Expressway in Delta State.
Items recovered from the suspect by the Police include, six locally made double barrel guns concealed in an umbrella
The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
The Police spokesperson said, they intercepted a Toyota Hiace Bus with registration number: OLG 13 EFR and subjected the passengers to a search.
DSP Edafe said it was during the search that those guns were found with the suspect, hidden in an umbrella.
He said investigations into the matter has commenced.
