Police confirm Maina’s arrest, say he will be extradited from Niger Republic soon

Nigerian Police has confirmed the arrest of the former chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina.

This was made known yesterday by Police Spokesperson, Frank Mba.

He said that following the arrest of Maina in Niamey, Niger Republic, the Nigeria Police Force is perfecting extradition processes of the fugitive to Nigeria so as to enable him face trial in pending criminal proceedings against him.

Mr Mba also stated that Maina is currently in detention facility in Niger Republic as the force assured Nigerians that there shall be no hiding place for any suspect no matter how highly placed.

It will be recalled that Mr Maina is facing a 12 count money laundering charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
