
Anambra State Police Command says last Monday, one Engineer Charles Nwammadu of Prince Charles Hotel, Isuanuocha, in Awka North Local Government of Anambra State, reported at Mgbakwu Police Out- Station that there was a robbery incident at the hotel.
According to the report, hoodlums climbed over the hotel fence at about one o’clock in the morning, and allegedly robbed some customers of their phones and other valuables.
A release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, said preliminary investigation led to the arrest of four suspects with the aid of a CCTV camera installed by the hotel management.
The release said that the case is under investigation and suspects are assisting the Police with useful information that will aid investigation after which those found wanting would be brought to book.
Consequently, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang, has reiterated his clarion call on all hoteliers in the State to, as a matter of urgency, install CCTV Cameras in all hotel premises.
Mr Abang also urged hoteliers to do background checks on their staff as proactive measures to enhance Safety and Security at their respective hotels and to avert similar incident.
