Pregnant Woman Abducted In Rivers Found With Flat Tummy
A nine-month pregnant woman, Dorathy Opus, who was declared missing in Rivers State, has been found alive, but with flat belly.
Dorathy Opus was declared missing on Friday, 7th February, 2025,
She was, however, discovered on Wednesday, February 12, around 7pm at “The Young* Roundabout, in Port Harcourt.
She is believed to have been dumped there by her abductors who had likely forcibly delivered her of the baby.
The abductors released the woman but kept the baby.
Dorathy was rushed to a hospital in Port Harcourt, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Her sister-in-law said Dorathy left home on Friday afternoon, with her phone, charger, and purse, telling her son she would be back soon.
She did not return prompting her family to start searching for her and declared her missing.
Some sources close to her said they sighted her at UPE Bus Stop, waiting to board a commercial vehicle and that was all they knew.
Efforts to track her failed to yield any results until some passersby sighted her where she was dumped on Wednesday.
Residents are now worried that there may be a new trend of kidnappers targeting heavily pregnant women solely for their babies.
Police are now investigating the incident with a view to unraveling those behind the act and the whereabouts of the baby.
