President Tinubu appoints Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as acting CJN

President Bola Tinubu has lauded the appointment of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as Chief Justice of Nigeria, describing it as an inspiration for young women aspiring to break barriers and make significant societal contributions.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that Justice Kekere-Ekun’s rise from magistrate to Supreme Court justice reflects her exceptional talent, dedication, and unblemished record.

He urged her to defend the judiciary’s independence and champion justice, while highlighting her remarkable contributions and integrity.

Kekere-Ekun is the second woman to hold this esteemed position, following Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar.
