President Bola Tinubu has launched the Torch of Unity Movement for the 22nd National Sports Festival, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sports development. The festival, tagged ‘Gateway Games,’ will take place in Ogun State from May 16 to May 30, 2025.
At the flag-off ceremony in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized sports as a tool for unity and youth engagement, urging private and public sectors to invest in infrastructure and athlete development. The Torch of Unity will travel across Nigeria, symbolizing peace and solidarity.
Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun assured readiness to host over 10,000 athletes in a world-class event, with top Nigerian sports stars set to grace the festival.
