Private oil depots have increased the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, to N900 per litre, up from over N890 per litre. This surge follows rising crude oil prices and global market fluctuations.
Checks revealed that depots such as Rainoil, Prudent, A.Y.M Shafa, and Mainland adjusted their prices, likely leading to higher pump prices nationwide. The rise in crude oil costs—from $70 to $75 per barrel has impacted refineries, including Dangote’s $20 billion facility.
Meanwhile, MEMAN reported an N88 per litre increase in petrol’s landing cost within a week. Experts warn that continued market instability could push prices even higher unless regulatory challenges are resolved.
