Anambra State today, resembled a typical Monday sit-at-home organized by Biafra agitators as major cities where largely deserted, with most businesses, including banks, filling stations, government offices, and markets closed.
Police presence were noticeable at key locations, but their activity were minimal, as they mostly engage in conversation among themselves. Some locals have expressed their views, noting that while the country’s situation remains dire, protests in Igbo land are unlikely to effect change.
Mr. Christian Nwofor, who runs a business center in Awka, commented that Any protest in the South East will be viewed differently, and he pleased that the people of Anambra have chosen to stay home.
