Rockets Hit Eritrea’s Capital, Asmara

Reports has it that multiple rockets have hit near the airport in Eritrea’s capital city Asmara. It was alleged that the rockets were fired from Ethiopia’s Northern Tigray region on Saturday as conflicts between Government and the separatist group spilled beyond Ethiopia’s borders.

Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) had earlier accused Eritrea of providing military support to the Ethiopian Government and sending troops across the border.

Reacting, Eritrean foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed told Journalists that they are not part of the conflict.

Tigray has been under a Communications blackout since the conflict began, making it impossible to ascertain true situation on ground.

It will be recalled that Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed launched a military offensive in the Tigray region on November 4.

So, far, hundreds of people have been killed on both sides and thousand others displaced.
