
The Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh on Sunday has awarded University Scholarship to Akachukwu Ozugha of Akpu, Abagana in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State, who recently lost his father.
Senator Umeh who was at James Anglican Church Abagana for an ‘Annual General Harvest and thanksgiving on the invitation of Rev’d George O Chieso, saw a woman and her children putting on a white mourning clothes, and he went closer and consoled them.
During a brief discussion with the widow and her children, Senator Umeh awarded University scholarship to the son, Master Akachukwu Ozugha and assured the family that that he will personally ensure that Master AkaChukwu becomes a graduate of any university of his choice.
Senator Victor Umeh also described education as the best gift he gives to humanity particularly to those of struggling families through Victor Umeh education Foundation (VMEF) which he said he spends over 15 million naira annually on schools fees and logistics of Anambrains benefitting from the foundation particularly orphans and children of the poor.
It will be recalled that in 2018, Senator Umeh awarded University scholarships to 76 students from Anambra Central Senatorial District and over 60 of them have successfully graduated.
