Leader of the Anambra Civil Society Network (ACSONET), Chris Azor, has described Governor-elect, Prof. Charles Soludo’s plan to adopt an open governance model after his swearing-in on March 17, 2022, as a good start.
Azor, who is also the Co-Chairman of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), in a statement at the weekend, said it would create an opportunity for participatory administration between the government and the people, which would ultimately result in transparency and accountability.

Noting that the group has no doubt that the committee headed by Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, would not fail the Anambra people in delivering their terms of reference, Asconet commended Soludo for disclosing his plan not to embark on fanfare at the expense of the development of the state when he assumes duties.

Applauding the governor-elect for insisting that his administration would not waste the state’s resources on jamborees, Azor stated that Soludo’s declaration is in line with the good governance foundation laid by Governor Willie Obiano, who signed up to Open Government Partnership (OGP) in June 2017, as the first governor to do so in the South East.
