Soludo Calls For More Empowerment For War Veterans To Become Self-reliant

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has called on all to support the war veterans to enable them care of themselves and their families.

The Governor was speaking at a Church Service at the St Faith Cathedral Church, Awka, to mark this year’s Armed Force’s day Remembrance.

The Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, appreciated the efforts of all security agencies in the state in fighting insecurity and criminalities, as well as those who have served in various theaters of war.

He prayed for the souls of those who paid the supreme prize in the course of defending the country.

The Governor who commended the Service Chiefs for their commitment in tackling insecurity, reminded them of the efforts of the state government in the areas of security and infrastructural development, and urged all to join hands to further improve the state.

The Governor further disclosed that vigilante groups have been adequately empowered to partner with other security agencies to ensure effective security.

In a sermon, the Bishop on the Niger West, Right Reverend Jonson Ekwe, stressed the need for integrity, Loyalty, discipline, and core values amongst the various security agencies, noting that when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.

The Bishop, spoke against all forms of sycophancy, and observed that such aids crime, and called for collaborative relationship as a way of tackling insecurity in the nation as well as address issue of hunger.

He also charged Nigerians to vote in competent persons to restore the nation’s glory.
