Soludo Calls On Ndi Anambra To Be Wary Of Fake News, Mis-Information!

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has warned ndi Anambra to be wary of purveyors of fake news in the media, especially those who spread false information in social media platforms intended to create fear or panic.
Governor Soludo gave the warning at the Holy Mass to mark this year’s Independence Day celebration Mass at St. Patrick Cathedral, Awka.
The governor observed that certain people have been taking advantage of the current security situation in the country to spread fake news and misinformation, thereby causing unnecessary anxiety and fear among the people.
He urged ndi Anambra to be vigilant and to verify any information received before sharing.
“I call on all Ndi Anambra to be vigilant and to verify any information they receive before sharing it,” Soludo said.
“Do not spread fake news or misinformation, as this can only serve to create fear and panic among the people.”
Governor Soludo also assured ndi Anambra that despite the successes recorded so far in taming insecurity in the State, his government is continuosly working hard to address pockets of insecurity challenges in the state.
He disclosed that the government has deployed security personnel to strategic locations across the state, while greater efforts are being made to improve intelligence gathering and sharing.
“My government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Ndi Anambra,” Soludo reaffirmed.
“We are working hard to address the security challenges in the state, and we are confident that we will overcome them soon.”
The governor’s warning is coming at a time when there is a growing trend of fake news and misinformation being deliberately spread on the social media by mischief-makers to create unfounded tension and anxiety among the people.
