Governor Chukwuma Soludo has urged various communities in Anambra State to emulate the Neni Community model in road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance.
Speaking at the Governor’s Lodge Amawbia, when a delegation from Awka Community, led by its traditional ruler, Obi Gibson Nwosu visited him, Governor Soludo stated that it was in Neni Community, Anaocha Local Government Area that an individual, the late Dr Anthony Enukeme, constructed and tarred eighteen kilometres of road which he said is worthy of emulation.
The governor while describing Anambra, as a state with multiple cities, charged the citizenry to always follow due process in addition to obtaining approval from relevant government agency before embarking on any housing project.
He disclosed that his administration will implement the Anambra State Master Plan, with a view to making Awka what it is supposed to be as a state capital and charged the people to always have a sense of building control.
Governor Soludo regretted that many people in the state capital transact businesses along the highway, which he described as dangerous and promised to reposition the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, for more quality and effective service delivery.
