Governors of the South East region should find a better way of honouring late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
This was the submission of the president of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka at the 10th year memorial lecture in honour of late Ojukwu, which held in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Friday.
According to Igboayaka, there was no celebration that could equate what Ojukwu did for Ndigbo.
Also speaking at the lecture, the founder of the Movement for the Actualization of a Sovereign State of Biafra (MASOB), Ralph Uwazuruike expressed that the late Igbo warlord was a great man who fought for the liberation of Ndigbo, adding that Ndigbo is grateful to Ojukwu for fighting selflessly for the freedom of the Igbo people.
Uwazuruike also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the appeal made by Igbo leaders to release leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
On his part, the guest lecturer, Prof Nathan Uzoma, called the federal government to review the country’s constitution in the quest to achieving national unity.
Extolling the late Ojukwu, his widow, Bianca thanked all those who graced the occasion.
