Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, South-West Zone, has declared an indefinite withdrawal of services by clinical lecturers in universities across the region.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. AbdulKareem Salawu, and Secretary, Dr. Omotola Obajolowo, the association said the strike follows the expiration of a 21-day ultimatum issued on January 13, demanding the payment of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure, CONMESS.

MDCAN expressed concern over the continued disparity in payments compared to other regions, saying the strike will continue until the salary structure is fully implemented.

The association urged authorities to act swiftly, warning that the disruption could affect medical education and healthcare delivery in the region.
