
As the saying of what a man can do, a woman can do better goes, a special Women Squad is to be commissioned by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps(NSCDC).
Speaking at an interview with journalists, the new NSCDC boss , Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi said his leadership will soon float a special Women Squad to fight the challenges of banditry and kidnapping in the country as the Agency is prepared to give their best to Nigeria. He said it will avail women opportunity to display their security skills.
He said that in the bid for the Corps to deliver world class service , personnels will be trained to give their best and enhance their productivity.
He also stated he will focus on the safe school initiative, the deployment of special forces to go round and give survelliance and patrol to most of the bandits hideouts.
Still on the Safe School Initiative of the Corps, Dr Audi said that they have commissioned a team of researchers and intellectuals who are currently conducting a vulnerability survey of schools . In the meantime, all state Commandants are to deploy personnels to schools in their various states so they can provide safety for the children.
Also speaking on welfare of staff, he said his leadership will improve on the welfare of the staff as it serves to motivate them to perform better as they are also working on paying backlog of arrears due to promoted staff.
While commending President Buhari for approving recruitment for the Corps for the span of three years, which is 5,000 for each year, he implored the Federal government to provide funds for equipment, welfare services and logistics.
