St Charles Zone of St Dominic Catholic Church, Mbaukwu has marked their 3rd annual general harvest and bazaar with enough fanfare and thanksgiving to God.
The bazaar with its theme as, God Loves A Cheerful Giving, had members thanking God for successful farming season, gift of life, successful marriages and gifts of children and above all safety against the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.
In a homily during the mass which took place yesterday, at St Charles Center, Adibe compound in Umuezune village, Mbaukwu, the Priest in Charge, Reverend Father Dr Boniface Obiekezie spoke on the value of perseverance and consistent prayer through thanksgiving. He said that it is biblically right to thank God for all the good things He has done, especially at this time of the year.
Reverend Father Obiekezie also added that prayer with thanksgiving has the capacity to unlock God’s grace.
In his speech, the chairman of the 3rd St Charles General Harvest and Bazaar , Ambassador Odira Eze ,Onowu Dike Udo, thanked Father Boniface for his commitment in soul winning and evangelism , which was evident in the mass turn out at the
mass.
Speaking on the harvest, he urged all to continually be grateful for the ultimate act of love of Christ on the cross. He encouraged all to continue in the collective acts of love and service that will bring healing , reconciliation and love to neighbours and the world at large.
Dignitaries at the event were Mr Uchenna Obi, Secretary General , Mbaukwu Progressive Union, Engineer Frank Ekpeha, Sir Samuel Nwankwo among others.
Highlights of the Harvest and Bazaar were cash donations and auction sales.
