
Super Eagles Coach, Augustine Eguavoen has downplayed Nigeria’s chances of winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations title, saying it is too early to tipped favourites.
Speaking to the media ahead of the team’s second group match against Sudan on Saturday, Eguavon stated that despite the impressive performance of the team against Egypt – which they won 1 – nill, it was only the first game and there was still a lot to come from the competition.

The Eagles coach added that the focus of the team was currently on the next game which will be taken with all seriousness.
Victory over Sudan in Garoua later today will see Nigeria book a place in the Round of 16 of the tournament with a game in hand.
Nigeria has faced Sudan 14 times and have had the upper hand with the most wins (eight) while Sudan boast of two victories.
