Special Enforcement Team of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra on Saturday, arrested five suspect on different charges of impersonation and harassing members of the agency at Aroma, Regina Caeli Junction during a routine stop and check, decongestion and sensitisation of traders.
Following a series of complaints and reports from the agency’s field marshals concerning a repeated harassment of tricycle operators and robbery experienced passerby using the popular Aroma-Macdons-Amaenyi road, the special enforcement team stormed Aroma and arrested persons believed to be suspects terrorising the road and collecting illegal tax from traders and tricycle operators.
While on a stop and search and decongestion at Regina Junction, others were arrested for assaulting officers of operation clean and healthy Anambra; Ocha Brigade.
The agency stated that it is poised in ensuring that order returns at the major roads and streets for ease of vehicular movement.
Those arrested will be charged and arraigned in court for prosecution.
