In Abuja, teenager Lawal Hameedat Adenike has sued JAMB and PEFTI, accusing them of forcing her to remove her hijab before sitting for the UTME at a CBT centre in Ibadan on April 25.
Her mother, Basirat Ojo, filed the case, describing the incident as painful and humiliating.
The lawsuit seeks a public apology in two national newspapers and compensation for the violation of her religious rights.
Her lawyer, Qousim Opakunle, stated that the action contravenes Section 38 of the Nigerian Constitution, which guarantees freedom of religion, especially for minors unable to defend themselves.
