The 10,000 -sitting capacity International Convention Center in Anambra nearing completion

The 10,000 -sitting capacity International Convention Center in Anambra is nearing completion as the Governor promises it will be ready for the swearing-in of the next governor of Anambra State.

The Center, which is at Agu Awka has been built according to international standards, which will, amongst other things, also serve as a multipurpose centre.

Describing the acoustics work at the ICC, one of the Engineers on site, Engr Okezie said that the walls of the centre will be padded to keep in sound and prevent any external sound from interfering with meetings or events inside the halls. The roof also has the technology that will keep out noise.

Showing off the different meeting halls, banking hall and other facilities inside the ICC to members of RATTAWU and NUJ, the Engineer said that the ICC, as a Multipurpose centre will be a source of generating revenue to the state. The car park, he said will take more than 1,500 cars at any given time.

Speaking to Newsmen after the tour, Governor Obiano tasked the media in Anambra state to report accurate things that are ongoing in the state and discourage fake news.

He also said that he has faith in the candidacy of Prof Chukwuma Soludo and Dr Ifeanyi Ibezim as they are a pair that will keep up and build on the legacy that his administration has created in the state.

In their separate speeches, RATTAWU National Vice President and his NUJ counterpart applauded the governor for his good works and thanked him for deeming it fit to give the media workers in the state, insider knowledge of what is going on in the state.
