The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a ban on protests against hunger in any South-East territory, warning that any one organizing such protests in the South East will face consequences.
In a press statement by spokesperson Emma Powerful, IPOB emphasized that the current economic hardship in Nigeria should be addressed by Nigerians, not specifically by the Igbos.
The group expressed concern that participating in protests against economic hardship in the South-East could endanger the Igbo people.
. IPOB urged the people to refrain from joining any hunger protest in the region.
