The South East Vice National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Arize Ekenem, who disclosed this in Awka, said they have commenced aggressive drive towards repositioning the party ahead of the 2021 governorship election in Anambra, promising to unseat the ruling party after thirty years in political Laguna
Chief Ekenem, speaking with journalists after a meeting with the state party executive in Awka, maintained that SDP has formed a new agenda to oust the ruling APGA government in Anambra State.
He also assured the people of Anambra that SDP will present a candidate that will attract uncommon development to the state.
Ekenem urged the state executive to go to their various communities to evangelize, convince people and bring in people so that the party will have landslide victory 2021 governorship election.
He thanked the National Chairman, Chief Tunde Adeniran, and the state leader, Senator Annie Okonkwo, for their role in sustaining the party as one family.
The state chairman, Dr. Webster Okonkwo, while recalling that the good people of Anambra state voted massively for the then SDP governorship candidate, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife during the 1991 gubernatorial election because of its people oriented agenda, expressed readiness of the party to reclaim it mandate at the polls.
According to him, SDP Anambra State is determined to partner the electorate to ensure the emergence of a new, credible, functional and deep rooted leadership for Ndi Anambra with a view to harvesting in full, dividends of democracy and putting in place a social-economic system that will be of benefit to all.
He added that substantially, SDP led administration, if voted into power, will promote a production and export based economy that will ensure a clear departure from the consumption economy currently in place in the state.
Okonkwo further asserted that SDP will actively participate in the 2021 governorship election, stressing that machineries are already in motion towards the vision including tour of the 326 wards in the state.
